Traffic has been thrown into chaos on the Pacific Motorway this afternoon, following two separate crashes within just metres of each other.
Three cars are believed to have collided southbound near Exit 57 in Oxenford just after 11.00am, before another two cars collided nearby shortly after.
Several emergency crews including police, firies and paramedics rushed to the scene.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC eight people were assessed.
However, only one person, a man aged in his 20s, has been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
He suffered abdominal injuries but is thankfully in a stable condition.
Lengthy delays are being experienced in the area with motorists urged to seek alternative routes.
